Sonia Parvin is a highly accomplished professional who has worked in a variety of industries. Sonia, the inspirational creator of the "Esho Nije Kori" Mental Health Support Services Center, has played a pivotal role in the establishment and success of the center since 2016, exhibiting a steadfast dedication to mental health and general well-being. Her supervisory responsibilities encompass managing diverse corporate wellness campaigns, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), and the influential Youth Enlightenment Program.

 

Sonia is involved in organizing and carrying out corporate wellness programs in addition to her main business. She has created customized training on subjects like "Stress Management" "Mindfulness Leadership" "Overcoming Depression" "Couples Relationship Issues" and  " Anger Management" for various corporate and NGOs such as Children's Hope, SOS - Children Village-Khulna, and Green Delta Insurance Company Ltd. Sonia has also created modules on inappropriate relationship building, suicide prevention, societal issues, and parental concerns.

 

Beyond clinical work, Sonia is widely recognized for her active role in mental health advocacy in Bangladesh. She is a regular guest on television programs such as “Moner Kotha” on RTV and “Promises Moner Kotha” on Bangla She was recently featured on Maasranga TV’s prime morning show, “Ranga Sokal,” in a special segment highlighting her professional journey and work in mental health. Her presence is equally strong in academic and professional spaces—she has spoken as a main speaker at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) and as a panel speaker at BASIS, and she continues to connect with communities through Rotary Club talks focused on adolescent mental health and family awareness.

 

Sonia also participates in forward-looking conversations that shape the future of mental health services. She was invited to an open discussion forum on generative AI-powered sexual, reproductive, and mental health services for teenagers at an AI Validation Workshop powered by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, reflecting her interest in responsible innovation that can reach young people safely and effectively. Additionally, in February 2025, she took part in the SCIMITAR-SA Stakeholder Workshop organized by the ARK Foundation, Bangladesh, contributing to South Asia’s regional thinking on how to build scalable, realistic mental health care models for people living with severe mental illness.

 

Actively promoting mental health awareness, Sonia is a regular guest on TV shows like "Moner Kotha" on RTV and "Promises Moner Kotha" on Bangla TV. Her presence at seminars and panel discussions is well-known because she has spoken as a main speaker at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) and as a panel speaker at BASIS. Sonia's dedication to community welfare is evident by her participation in talks on adolescent mental health hosted by Rotary clubs. A mental health advisor at the National Alliance for Drowning Prevention (NADP), Psychotherapist at Kingston Hospital Ltd., CBT Therapist at Yellow Therapist, Affiliate Counselor at Workplace Options (Global) and Therapist at Modern Health (USA), and Executive Member at Institute for Social Research Advocacy and Training (ISRAT) are just a few of the positions Sonia holds in the field of mental health. She worked at Coats Bangladesh Ltd. to gain valuable experience before going into the mental health field, and she eventually became the Managing Director of Amran Associates Ltd. Along with being a member of the Bangladesh Clinical Psychology Society (BCPS), Sonia is also an international member of the American Psychological Association (APA).
